What is the meaning of “noodp” in Robot Meta tags?
I’ve seen these robot meta tags “noodp” in someone’s site. What does it mean? Please give me proper answers and don’t just give me links of your sites.
The word meaning of NOODP means NO Open Directory Project Title. Generally search engines fetch the title from ODP which might not be SEO oriented. If you wish the search engine to follow your page tile then you got to put this tag in your metas.
META NAME=”ROBOTS” CONTENT=”NOODP” (stops MSN, Google and Yahoo from using ODP directory)
or
META NAME=”Slurp” CONTENT=”NOODP (stops just Yahoo from using ODP directory)
